Ion Creangă Theatre has been present on the cultural scene of Bucharest since 1964, being one of the first art performances public institutions set up by the local authorities for the young audience. Nowadays, Ion Creangă Theater is a landmark in the Capital’s cultural environment.
Its programs and projects, whether we refer to performances or festivals, remain relevant to the stage reached by performing arts for children at national and international level. The institution creates and promotes highly artistic theater performances, to coordinate and implement research programs and educational, social-educational and aesthetic projects for children aged 0 to 12 years, teachers, academics, parents and legal tutors, in order to increase the access to cultural activities.
Through its diverse repertoire, educational activities, and participation in international projects, Ion Creangă Theatre actively contributes to the development of theatre for young generations and to strengthening European cultural dialogue.

Alexandra Mihăilă
Project Manager
Alexandra Mihăilă graduated courses of three renowned Universities in Romania, a master’s degree at the Academy of Economic Studies and many other specialization courses. She has a great experience in organizing cultural events (from outdoor events to indoor events), for more than 15 years, most of them for children. She has been part of the Ion Creanga Theater team for 8 years and two of the most important projects that she coordinated were “Mapping. A Map on the aesthetics of performing arts for early years” – an artistic research project focused on creating a sensory-based relationship with very young children, from 0 to 6 years, through performing arts. In particular, it explores the idea of “children-spectators of today and not only of tomorrow” and ,,Stories that do us good. Imagination exercises, creative writing and theater” – social inclusion project that had as beneficiaries children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Andra Mihaela Burca
Project Manager
Andra Burca is a choreographer, theatre director, and performer. She graduated from UNATC “I.L. Caragiale” in Bucharest and holds Master’s degrees in Theatre Pedagogy and Diplomatic Studies. Over the past ten years, she has dedicated her artistic practice to Performing Arts for Early Years, performing and directing theatre productions for very young children, leading workshops for children and families, and coordinating workshops for theatre professionals and educators.
Ana Maria Ilinca
Assistant Project Manager
Ana Maria Ilinca is a communication and public relations professional with solid experience in team coordination and project support. Throughout her career, she has worked in both the public and private sectors, holding leadership and coordination roles.
In the public sector, she served as Head of the Public Relations Office at the Bucharest Transport Company, where she managed communication strategies and coordinated public engagement initiatives. In the private sector, she coordinated teams within the wellness industry, contributing to the organization and development of projects and activities in this field.
She holds two bachelor’s degrees: one in Communication and Public Relations from the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA) and another in Management from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE). She also earned a master’s degree in Management and Governance from SNSPA.
Cristina Banciu
Accountant
She graduated the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, Faculty of International Economic Relations. Since 1990, Cristina has been active in the financial-accounting field, holding various positions within several public institutions.
Since 2004, she has been working at Ion Creangă Theatre, currently holding the position of Economist within the Financial-Accounting Department.
Over the more than 20 years she has worked at Ion Creangă Theatre, she has actively participated in numerous projects and events, such as: The International Theatre Festival for Children 100, 1,000, 1,000,000 Stories, The Childhood Memories Festival, The Stories That Do Us Good Project, The Mapping – A Map on the Aesthetics of Performing Arts for Early Years Project.
