LA BARACCA

Born in 1976 La Baracca is a theatre company and a worker cooperative active in the field of theatre, art and culture for children and young people.
We produce shows for children from 0 to 14; we programme theatre seasons in our premises, presenting both our productions and shows by other national and international theatre companies, offering the audience new and different perspectives; we create events that offer a number of activities to a diversified audience: festivals, residential workshops, special series of shows, readings and other activities; we run and administer theatre halls in agreement with the Municipalities of Bologna and Medicina, where we develop most of our activity.

Anna Sacchetti
Project Manager
After graduating in Political Sciences at the University of Bologna, she started working for La Baracca in 2008, where she has been active in different areas (production, organization, dissemination) connected to the company’s international relations.
She has been part of the management team of 4 different EU Culture projects:
– Small size, the Net (2005-2008)
– Small size, big citizens (2009-2014)
– Small size, performing arts for early years (2014-2018)
– Mapping, a Map on the aesthetic of performing arts for early years (2018-2023)
and is currently co-managing The Right Time.
She is vice-president of Small size, the international network for the diffusion of performing arts for early years.
Andrea Buzzetti
Artist
Andrea Buzzetti is a director, performer and researcher whose artistic work is deeply rooted in theatre for early childhood. Since joining La Baracca – Testoni Ragazzi in 2002, he has developed a distinctive directorial language shaped by his dual background as actor and lighting technician.
His work as a director focuses on non-verbal performances in which light, objects, movement and visual composition become essential dramaturgical tools.
This approach emerged clearly in the Theatre and Light project, where he was responsible for the co-direction and acting of productions such as On-Off, Spot, Sotto un’altra luce and Raggi di luce.
Over the years, he has further consolidated his role as an author and director, creating numerous productions for children aged 0–6 based on emotional dramaturgy, body expressiveness and the transformation of everyday materials into theatrical narratives. In The Right Time – Exploring Time in Performing Arts for Early Childhood, he brings this strong directorial expertise to the role of Director, accompanying the project through its residency phases and guiding the artistic process up to the final realisation of the production, ensuring coherence between research, staging and production development.
Bruno Frabetti
Project Manager
Bruno Frabetti is a cultural manager, artistic director and theatre professional, specialising in Performing Arts for Early Years and international cultural cooperation.
Since 2013, he has been working with La Baracca – Testoni Ragazzi, where he has coordinated major international initiatives in the field of theatre for young audiences, with a particular focus on European cooperation projects, transnational partnerships and interdisciplinary research, including Small Size and Mapping.
He is currently Project Manager of The Right Time – Exploring Time in Performing Arts for Early Childhood, overseeing project writing, budgeting, fundraising and international partnership coordination.
His profile combines artistic vision with strong expertise in cultural project design, financial management, partnership coordination and audience development within both national and European contexts.
Since 2023, he has served as Co-Artistic Director of Visioni di Futuro, Visioni di Teatro – International Festival of Theatre and Culture for Early Childhood.
Sara Lanzi
Artist
Sara’s connection with theatre began in primary school, where she took part in theatre workshops. She went on to graduate in Dams Theatre from the University of Bologna, after which she joined La Baracca, working as a workshop leader, usher and actress. Over the years, she has collaborated with various cultural associations engaged in activities for children; in 2012 she became an employee of La Baracca – Testoni Ragazzi, and in 2025 she became a member of the cooperative. She has taken part in the creation of numerous productions for children and young people and leads theatre workshops in nursery schools, kindergartens, primary schools and theatre training courses for adults, also taking part in the company’s processes of artistic creation and research. She is also part of the staff dedicated to relationships with the school and family audiences.
Valentina Greco
Communication
Valentina, PhD in Gender Studies, has been working at La Baracca since 2023. Her work focuses on press office, content creation, and content management. She holds the same role within the project.
Lorenzo Monti
Artist
Lorenzo Monti is an actor with La Baracca – Testoni Ragazzi since 2015, where he primarily performs in productions for children aged 1–6, touring extensively both in Italy and internationally. Alongside his work as a performer, he leads theatre workshops for early childhood and serves as the company’s Social Media Manager and Audiovisual Production Manager.
