Kopla Bunz fuses music, dance and theatre to form a complete work. Various disciplines come
together to discuss a subject, but only after a Kopla Bunz (= sumersault or galipette) can the real
work begin! Interdisciplinary projects by local and international artists appeal to a wide range of
audiences. The development of quality plays for children is particularly close to our hearts. Kopla
Bunz acts both as a local cultural provider and a cultural ambassador abroad with its tours.
Through participatory projects, the company enters into direct dialogue with local communities,
firmly anchoring its cultural work in society.
PEOPLE
Jean Bermes
Artist
Luxembourgish bass-baritone Jean Bermes studied singing and conducting at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. He completed his vocal training with a postgraduate degree in opera at the Flemish Opera Studio in Ghent.
As a singer and conductor, he performs on various European stages and is active in both the classical operatic repertoire and contemporary and interdisciplinary works. He is co-founder and co-
artistic director of Kopla Bunz.
His particular passion lies in creating and performing music theatre productions as well as music education projects for young audiences. Since 2022, he is also serving as President of ASSITEJ Luxembourg.
Daphné Macary
Communication
Since September 2024, Daphné Macary has been serving as Booking and Communication Manager for Kopla Bunz. Alongside this activity, Daphné is an opera singer – mezzo-soprano, with a warm, emotional and flexible voice as critic and audience said. Her dual career reflects her commitment and passion for music theater.
Ela Baumann
Artist
Ela Baumann is a multidisciplinary artist who studied at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and specializes in directing and choreographing projects that combine music, dance, and theater. She is known for her innovative productions, in which she blends scenic and musical elements – she even choreographs orchestral performances, including with the Berlin Philharmonic under Sir Simon Rattle.
Ela is particularly committed to productions for a young audience, which have been performed in renowned venues such as the Vienna State Opera, the Kennedy Center in Washington, and the Philharmonie Luxembourg. Her commitment to inclusion is reflected in her work with Kopla Bunz and ASSITEJ Luxembourg, where she actively participates in inclusive art projects. Her work has won many awards, including the Prix Création Lyrique SACD and the Music Theatre Now Award.
Hanna Naske
Artist
Hanna Naske is a scenographer and spatial artist working primarily across musical theatre, dance theatre as well as theatre for young audiences. Her artistic practice is rooted in interdisciplinary collaboration—striving for projects in which the boundaries between artistic disciplines dissolve, creating multisensory experiences. Hanna designs playful, dynamic and sensual environments that shift and evolve, inviting critical reflection on the construction of our multiple realities. Raised in Austria and Luxembourg, Hanna studied fine arts and photography at AKV St. Joost in the Netherlands. She then completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in stage design under Raimund Bauer at HFBK Hamburg. She is currently based between Hamburg and Vienna.
Christian Klinkenberg
Artist
Composer, pianist, and PhD in the Arts, based in Eupen, Belgium. He founded the Christian Klinkenberg Orchestra in 2001 and developed the multimedia-opera format he calls Opera 2.0 in works such as The Glacier, 1984 and The Cross of the Engaged. With the theatre company Fithe he has composed music for children’s and family productions including Plötzlich Pinguin, Fridolin & Friederike, and Des Kaisers neue Kleider. He taught orchestration at the Brussels Conservatory until 2020 and now teaches computer music at the Conservatoire du Nord in Luxembourg. He also founded Sonamont, developing software for music learning, music notation, and synthesizer programming
Audrey Dero
Artist
Trained as an actress at INSAS, Audrey Dero creates visual theatre projects that combine object manipulation and physical performance. Drawn to intimate forms of theatre, she develops poetic and sensory experiences that foster curiosity, gentleness and wonder, often in close proximity to the audience. Her work explores non-verbal communication and the relationship between performer and spectator through small-scale settings and immersive encounters.
Inspired by collage techniques, she assembles images, objects and bodies to create visual narratives rich in associations and imagination. The body itself becomes a theatrical object, contributing to a distinctive stage language that is both playful and evocative.
Alongside her own creations, she works as an actress with renowned directors including Guy Dermul, Emilie Maréchal and Johan De Smet, collaborating with companies such as the KVS, Océan Nord and Kopergietery.
